Many growing businesses are too large to rely solely on entrepreneurial instinct, but not yet at a stage where they would engage a large consulting firm. Jade Advisory bridges that gap.
I help growing businesses navigate the challenges that come with growth. Not simply by providing advice, but by working alongside founders and leadership teams to identify opportunities, solve problems, and turn ideas into action.

I focus on growing from the inside out: strengthening the strategy, structure, and operations that allow the business to scale with more clarity, capacity, and control. And that often starts with an outside-in perspective. Someone who can step back, ask the right questions, challenge assumptions, and help identify opportunities and blind spots that may no longer be visible from within the business itself.
My role is not to just hand over a report full of recommendations and disappear, but to help turn insights into action. Identifying opportunities is only the first step. The real value comes from implementing changes, solving challenges along the way, and ensuring that good ideas don't remain ideas.
My expertise spans both strategy and operations, and I believe those two areas are inseparable. A strategy is only valuable if the business can execute it, and operational improvements are most effective when they support a clear direction.
I work with founders and leadership teams of growing service based businesses that know there is more potential inside their organisation. They often have a solid business, a growing client base, and a team in place.
While growth is happening, it doesn't necessarily become easier to run. What worked a few years ago is no longer working as effectively today.
These businesses are usually past the stage where hard work alone will solve the problem. They need greater clarity, stronger foundations, and a business that is capable of supporting the next stage of growth.
That is where I can help.

My name is Zhen Jun Chang, but I'm better known as ZJ. Before starting Jade Advisory, I spent more than a decade working in consulting, including at EY, where I advised organisations on strategy, performance improvement, and operational challenges.
During those years, I worked with large organisations that had access to experienced advisors, specialist expertise, and the resources to continuously improve how they operated. I saw how successful businesses approached growth, decision-making, and organisational effectiveness, and how much thought went into building companies that could continue to perform as they grew.
At the same time, entrepreneurship has always been part of my life.
I grew up in an entrepreneurial family, with businesses in hospitality and retail, helping in my parents' restaurant from a young age and seeing first-hand what it takes to run a business.
While my own career initially took me into the corporate and consulting world at first, I always felt a strong connection to entrepreneurship and the people behind those businesses.
Over time, I realised that the work I enjoyed most wasn't helping large organisations optimise another process or improve another metric.
It was helping business owners solve their challenges, create opportunities, and build stronger businesses. That is what ultimately led me to start Jade Advisory.
Growing businesses often face many of the same challenges as larger organisations. As teams grow, complexity increases, and the business requires more structure to support continued growth.
The difference with entrepreneurs is that most founder-led businesses don't have access to the same expertise, outside perspective, or support that larger organisations do.
And when they do bring in external support, it is often one of two extremes. Either they work with someone who understands entrepreneurship but has limited experience with organisational growth and operational complexity, or they work with consultants who understand large organisations but have never built or run a business themselves.
Having spent more than a decade in consulting while also growing up in an entrepreneurial family and building my own business, I found myself somewhere in the middle.
Entrepreneurs think differently. They have different constraints, different responsibilities, and different ways of making decisions. What works inside a large corporate environment doesn't always translate directly to a growing founder-led business.
That is why I created Jade Advisory.
To bring the structured thinking, operational expertise, and problem-solving approach typically available to larger organisations to growing businesses, while translating it into practical solutions that work in the reality of a founder-led business. Not to turn growing businesses into corporations, but to help them build stronger foundations for growth.
